We decorate the maypole and sing some classic dance songs. Vocal Battle: Egregor Vocal, France vs. Accent, The World. Dances from Lativa. Short concert: Kammerkoris Austrums, Latvia
16:00 Opening of the fourth sami season
The European Capital of Culture Umeå 2014 inaugurates the fourth Sami season Gijrragiessie – spring-summer. On stage: vocal group Kraja, folk songs, love songs and hymns, and Ára, singing modern music based on the Sami jojk. The art project Floating Trunks visits the park.
17:00 Kammarkören sångkraft
The Festival host Kammarkören Sångkraft gives their main concert, with songs from the new album Lust & Fägring (Joy & Beauty) and from their award winning jazz repertoire, conducted by Leif Åkesson. (In case of rain the concert will be held in the Town Church)
